In a fitting tribute to Michigan’s most well-traveled public servant, state Representative Tom Kunse, R-Clare, has presented a resolution recognizing the governor’s commitment to international travel. The resolution commends her tireless efforts to keep Michigan’s global presence strong—one overseas trip at a time.
“While Michigan residents are busy dodging potholes, it’s reassuring to know that our governor is off admiring the roads of Europe,” said Kunse. “International diplomacy is alive and well, thanks to her firm belief that state business is best conducted from a poolside cabana located anywhere but Michigan.”
The resolution, delivered with tongue firmly in cheek, highlights the governor’s recent overseas trip to meet with European officials and stakeholders.
“There is plenty of work to be done right here at home,” said Kunse. “While the governor was focused on international relations, Michigan is waiting for its own set of pressing issues to get attention. Before we start meeting with other nations, maybe we should focus on the issues Michiganders actually care about—like crumbling roads, struggling schools, and skyrocketing costs. But hey, at least Michigan’s reputation abroad has never been better.”
