State Rep. David Martin is highlighting the upcoming start of major infrastructure improvements in Davison supported by $4.4 million Martin secured for the city last year through the state budget.
The funding will support critical road reconstruction tied to the city’s ongoing water system improvement project, ensuring streets impacted by underground utility work are fully rebuilt rather than left with temporary or patchwork repairs.
“By coordinating road and water work together, we’re saving taxpayer dollars and avoiding repeated construction disruptions for residents,” Martin said. “These are long-overdue improvements that will make a real difference in daily life for families in Davison.”
The City of Davison is moving forward with a water system improvement project through USDA Rural Development that will replace aging and undersized water mains, upgrade the water treatment plant and repair the water storage tower to meet state drinking water standards. While federal funding will cover pavement restoration where water mains are replaced, many of the affected streets are already in poor condition and require full reconstruction.
“This is about delivering reliable infrastructure and making sure local communities get the full benefit of every project dollar spent,” Martin said.
